Brian Eno Urges Public Help to Get Palestinian Solidarity Lullaby to UK Holiday Chart Peak.

A charity drive is aiming to launch a cultural melody to the peak of the festive singles chart. The project aims to send support to communities in Gaza while also spotlighting Palestinian cultural expression.

A Chance for Unity and an "Unlikely Coup"

Musician and artist Brian Eno, who features on the track, stated that the song titled Lullaby represents a moment to show solidarity with Palestinians during the holidays. He remarked the potential for an unexpected chart success.

“That would be amazing if that came to pass, yes,” he said. “I won't be completely disheartened if it fails to, Christmas singles are a category of their own.”

Resilient Spirit of Self-Determination

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who features in the reimagining of a cultural piece called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the track's powerful central theme.

“It has a profound significance for countless listeners,” Barghouti shared. “The message is that I would choose to perish with honor than live a life without freedom. That’s the main theme of the song; we want to live a life of dignity that we merit as a people.”

Track's Background and Featured Artists

The single was laid down in the wake of a solidarity show held in the autumn. First conceived to be done as a live recording, the performance was cut from the show due to time constraints.

The notable list of performers appearing on Lullaby includes a group of prominent voices from the scene. All took part in the benefit event, which managed to collect a substantial amount for charitable causes.

Final Touches and Availability

Lullaby was crafted by a group of producers and composers. The track features a fusion of the traditional Arabic lyrics with contemporary English verses.

The team running the initiative have stated that their aim is to generate maximum funds for a dedicated fund. These resources will be distributed to Palestinian causes through an established charity.

“There is no a specific target,” a spokesperson said. “We will pursue whatever we can get. Naturally, the more the merrier. Every penny goes out to those in need in Gaza.”

The situation in the territory was noted for its profound destruction, with a overwhelming percentage of infrastructure described as levelled or seriously harmed.

“In that context, a few million won't make an enormous impact. But I think what truly matters is primarily raising awareness for this issue and showing that another narrative exists.”

The song is launching this Friday. Additionally, a video of the benefit event will be made available for streaming on a popular streaming site from mid-December.
