Cowboys player Marshawn Kneeland has passed away at the age of 24.

The Cowboys selected the Cowboys in the second round in 2024 and played 18 times for the team, including four starts.

He recorded his initial touchdown in the Tuesday game to the Arizona Cardinals when he retrieved a blocked punt.

"Marshawn was a beloved teammate and part of our family," the Dallas Cowboys stated.

"Our thoughts and prayers regarding Marshawn are with his partner Catalina and his loved ones."

Kneeland was selected by Dallas with the 56th overall pick of the 2024 draft after playing college football for Western Michigan.

His representative, Jonathan Perzley, said his "heart breaks" for the passing of a player who "poured his heart" into every moment.

"I watched him fight his way from a aspiring young man at Western Michigan with a dream to being a esteemed pro for the Dallas Cowboys," Perzley commented.

The NFL said it is "profoundly grieved" by the news.
