Esteemed Actor Pat Finn, Famed For Roles in Friends and The Middle, Has Died at 60 Years Old.
US entertainer Pat Finn, who was seen in iconic programs like "Friends", Seinfeld and The Middle, has passed away aged 60.
The skilled improv artist succumbed at his home in Los Angeles on Monday following treatment for cancer beginning in 2022, per news outlets.
"Pat never met a stranger - solely future friends he didn't know yet," his relatives stated in a announcement.
They added that he had "lived his life fully - with happiness and energy".
A Notable Career on Screen
His debut TV appearance was in the George Wendt Show in the mid-90s, where he played the brother of the main character.
He subsequently landed a recurring role on Murphy Brown from 1995 to 1997.
He played the part of Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, depicting a party host known to delegate burdensome jobs to his guests.
Throughout the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on a variety of well-known programs, such as:
- King of Queens
- Friends
- "That '70s Show"
- "House"
He was most recognized for playing the character Bill Norwood in The Middle, starring in eight series between 2011 and 2018.
His film credits encompass "It's Complicated" and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.
Beyond the Screen
Away from his on-screen roles, Finn was a skilled improviser and worked as a teacher at the University of Colorado, where he was a faculty member.
He was part of a comedy group of six named Beer Shark Mice.
"Finn coached, befriended and mentored many learners over the years and you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone anyplace who has an unkind word to say about him," his relatives stated.
In a tribute, colleague and actor Richard Kind noted there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, grounded individual you could encounter".
"Perpetually optimistic, assisting others to improve and be funnier. An excellent dad and person," Kind wrote online.
Pat Finn is leaves behind his partner Donna, his three kids, and his family.
