Football Analyst Sutton Faces Off Against Singer Murs in Top Flight Forecasts

The Gunners' ten-match winning run came to an end by Sunderland before the international hiatus, however will the Premier League frontrunners bounce back against north London rivals Spurs this weekend?

"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," stated soccer specialist Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's team typically still find a way to win."

The analyst is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this season, versus artificial intelligence, readers and a variety of guests.

For week 12, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a United supporter.

The singer's new record, Knees Up, is available on Friday.

Football and Parenting Life

Murs is a talented footballer as well as a successful singer and has been a featured player of several charity football matches over time - but he is not planning a serious return as a player.

"{I actually played in a benefit game the other night for a friend of mine," he explained. "My side was losing 3-1 when I was substituted in the second half, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you want!

"I still love football, but I hurt my knee a few years ago and it even now hasn't fully recovered. I wish I could play more but the uncertainty of the game means it's too dangerous for me in my profession to do it properly again.

"Plus I am 41 now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am gearing up for the time that my daughter or boy chooses to play instead."

The singer and his spouse his partner have a young family, Madison and their son, and he is ready to emulate his dad by taking on the role of their coach.

"I won't force football on our children but I've previously told my wife that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will likely be managing their Saturday soccer side," he added.

"I observed my relatives play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I clearly was involved with a football club for a while too.

"My father did it with us when I was a child, which is likely where I get it from. He coached our team for several seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That could be the future for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Premier League Forecasts

Saturday, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea may have to wait a bit longer for their star's return from fitness issues but their attack is already stronger with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap both back fit.

I still think this fixture will be fairly tight, though. Burnley are disciplined and their only home defeats so far have been against Liverpool and Arsenal.

This suggests a one-all draw to me, but I am in fact going to go with Chelsea to edge it for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.

Sutton's forecast: 1-2

The singer's pick: Chelsea will be too strong. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have lost their past two matches - albeit both of them were away - but they got thoroughly beaten by Villa last time out which surprised me.

In contrast, West Ham secured two in a row before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they do look strong again.

West Ham's sole away win this season came at Forest in the summer, when their boss Nuno Espirito Santo was previously Forest manager.

Therefore, what on earth do I predict here - will it be West Ham continuing their streak under Nuno, or Bournemouth responding?

I will go with Bournemouth, because I think what occurred against Aston Villa was a blip.

Sutton's prediction: 2-0

Olly's outlook: The home team are performing strongly but the visitors have picked up under their boss. 2-2

The algorithm's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were seen as one of the frontrunners for relegation before the season started, but they have surprised a few observers under Keith Andrews and are in fine fettle with three in their past four games.

My son told me to get Bees forward Thiago in my fantasy soccer team a few weeks ago and, unfortunately, I ignored the advice.

Thiago will likely score again on Saturday but I am still not going to select him or back the away side at Brighton's ground.

They have not had great success on the travel this term, and Brighton are always strong at their stadium. Brentford will attempt to hit them on the break but I feel Fabian Hurzeler's team pose much more of a danger.

The analyst's prediction: 2-1

The singer's view: It could be one of those games where you expect there is going to be a lot of goals but it actually turns out to be rather tight. 1-1

The computer's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a massive fixture for the Cottagers, who have suffered defeat in five of their past six games.

Fulham have have lots of quality in their team but it nonetheless seems like they could be dragged into a relegation fight.

Regarding the Black Cats, indeed they are the unexpected success of the Premier League campaign so far.

The away side's display in the 2-2 draw with the Gunners last time out was superb. We have not seen anyone else disrupt the Gunners like that this season, and Sunderland were more than a match for them.

The logical choice would be to support the visitors here, because they are clearly able of disrupting the hosts up too and, the previous occasion they were in west London, they beat the Blues at the close of October.

However I am not do that. Rather, I really need to carry on opposing the away team with my forecasts. I am taking a lot of credit for their good outcomes because they evidently enjoy to prove me wrong.

Considering Fulham's home record, the only team they have lost to is the league leaders. Marco Silva's team will be absolutely desperate for a good result, so I am going to say they will pick up three much-needed points.

Sutton's forecast: 1-0

Olly's choice: I know Sunderland are doing well and also that the hosts are on a bad run... but Fulham have still been decent at home this campaign. 2-0

The algorithm's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a hard one to call. Liverpool have suffered seven of their past 10 games in every tournament, but might they be among the teams who profit from the {international break|
