Hulu is Developing a Far Cry TV Show from the Creators of the Alien Series and the Comedy Hit.

The newest action-packed instalment that players dived into was Far Cry 6, which showcased Giancarlo Esposito as the bad guy, Antón, and debuted back in October 6, 2021. As a series, it is known for celebrating chaos and mayhem with equal glee, all while telling gripping, socially charged narratives. It’s no surprise that the network’s new order for a Far Cry seasonal program brought on board two creators whose work have embodied all of those qualities.

What to Expect

Adapted from Ubisoft's popular video game series, the self-contained anthology series is set to premiere on Hulu and be produced by FX Productions. The anthology will also mirror the video games' format by featuring a fresh setting and group of personalities in each season.

Key Producers

Rob Mac, producer of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the mind behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will act as lead producers on the series under their production banners, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be accompanied by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

“FX has had outstanding partnerships with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a collective six series and 32 seasons of television, and we are overjoyed that they are working together for Far Cry,” said Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a announcement. “I have no doubt that they will deliver this story in a way that is fresh, compelling, and incredibly entertaining. We also want to acknowledge our partners at Ubisoft for placing confidence in us with this beloved property.”

Cast and Future Plans

Mac will also feature in the show, but at the time of writing, we are unsure of what role that could be. Hawley's Alien: Earth was not long ago renewed for a second instalment, with FX and Disney finalizing a new long-term contract with the showrunner.

“Getting to work alongside Noah Hawley is a dream realized,” remarked Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been remarkably accommodating, entrusting us with one of the most renowned video-game realms ever created. And through it all, my FX partners continues to lift me up with their ongoing belief and backing.”

“What I love about the Far Cry game collection is that it’s an anthology-style series. Every title is a variation of a idea, the same way each season of Fargo is a adaptation on a premise,” said Hawley. “To create a large-scale action show that can shift from season to season, while always delving into the essence of humanity through this multifaceted and turbulent viewpoint, is a ultimate goal. I’m excited to collaborate with Rob and bring our mutual bold, ambitious approach to the audience.”

A release window for when we can anticipate the new Far Cry show has not yet been revealed. The series will stream on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus in other regions.
