Netflix Casts Spot-On Performer for Bon Clay in One Piece Upcoming Installment
The Secret Organization is poised to play a huge role in the next installment of Netflix’s show of One Piece, though the real showdown won’t unfold until the next season, and a beloved, fan-favorite member has now been chosen.
The streaming service revealed recently that the talented performer will appear in the One Piece season 3 cast and will play Mr. 2. The role can use their power to transform into an perfect replica of anyone they’ve laid a hand on with their right hand. The performer, who is non-binary and uses they/them pronouns, will depict a rendition of that figure reimagined as gender non-binary, instead of as a drag artist, in the live-action show, as in the source material and anime.
This performer joins multiple new cast members who will portray the organization to life, such as leader Sir Crocodile, brought to life by Joe Manganiello, Sophia Anne Caruso as Miss Goldenweek, and Sendhil Ramamurthy, who also joins the ensemble as the ruler of the fictional land.
Though the role is a important part of Baroque Works, the character won’t appear until One Piece season 3. Given the second season set to cover the Little Garden arc, this represents a notable change in the placement of the character’s debut, one that could indicate more adjustments to the story’s structure.
Escola’s blend of excellent comedic sense and profound feeling makes them a ideal selection for the part. Besides their latest vocal work in the animated coming-of-age film Boys Go to Jupiter, they received high praise and multiple awards for writing and starring in the popular theatrical show Oh Mary!, showcasing the adaptability they’ll bring to one of One Piece’s most celebrated characters.
The platform’s adapted One Piece series is set to return for its season two on March 10, 2026.
