Star Rejects Anti-Vax Views After Narrating Contentious Coronavirus Documentary

The acclaimed actor has provided his voice to a recent film that questions the efficacy of vaccinations and praises one-time government figure Robert F Kennedy Jr.

The Documentary's Provocative Foundation

Named "Plague of Corruption," the film is inspired by a popular book written by Judy Mikovits, who gained notoriety during the health crisis for claims that the virus was caused by a faulty batch of the flu vaccine.

The book's co-author, the executive producer, has previously authored books with far-right figure the Infowars host. He took to social media hailing Neeson's role in the project.

An Unequivocal Rebuttal

The team of the actor have issued a comment pushing back against suggestions that he supports anti-vaccine beliefs.

"Everyone can recognize that misconduct may occur within the drug industry, but that cannot be equated to being against vaccines," the statement explains. "Liam has never been, and is not, anti-vaccination. His long work with the UN children's agency underscores his consistent support for public-health initiatives."

The statement noted that the star was not involved in crafting the film's messaging and that concerns about its claims should be directed to the creators.

Key Themes In the Documentary

According to the documentary, the script read by Neeson makes several controversial claims:

  • It claims that pro-immunization voices have called for "blind obedience" to public institutions.
  • It declares that "science has become dangerously politicised."
  • RFK Jr is shown claiming, "The core flaw with vaccines is that they just aren't properly vetted."
  • It takes aim at Covid lockdowns, claiming they caused severe distress that resulted in thousands of lives.
  • Regarding pandemic shots, it mentions a view that they were "rushed to market" and seen as "hazardous tests."

Past Controversy and Recent Debates

The film includes a 2004 BBC documentary about AIDS medication trials on children, which was afterwards the subject of a correction by the network for editorial breaches.

Last month, Kennedy instructed the national health agency to alter its official position that there is no causal relationship between immunizations and autism spectrum disorder. This assertion is echoed in the documentary, even with a fresh analysis from the global health body reiterating no connection has been found.

A Past Position of Advocacy

Contrasting the film's tone, Neeson has formerly shown clear advocacy for vaccines in his capacity as a charity ambassador.

Two years ago, he referred to vaccines as "an incredible triumph," noting that "The debate about vaccines in the past few years has forgotten how much positive impact they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest collective achievements in history."

"Plague of Corruption" concludes with Neeson's voice saying, "This is not the finish of our narrative. This is the start of a different phase."
